New Links (2008-06-18 02:09:10)
It's funny... because I update my news so rarely, it looks like I just updated my links section twice in a row, but it's been awhile. This time it's more personal - friends from college.
Note: The David in the links isn't to be confused with the David of "Chris and David" in the comic. |
"So... do you fucking update or what?" (2007-11-12 17:14:50)
Yes, I do... sometimes...
I'm going through some crap right now, mostly relating to me going off my meds and having to deal with some crap in my head that I haven't had to deal with for the past 5 years. I really want to get Nate Vs. on a Monday/Friday schedule, and hopefully I'll be able to get that going before thanksgiving.
For the 30 or so people out there reading this, it's really appreciated. Thanks, guys. |
Links! (but no forum) (2007-10-21 01:08:36)
Howdy folks!
The regular visitor (my mom) may notice that I don't have a forum anymore. Basically, it wasn't getting used for much, and I'm generally uncomfortable around forums, so if it started getting used, I imagine I'd just get even more weird around it.
In place of it, however, I have some links - basically the first 7 things I thought of, and most of them are local stuff, so you can be all, "hey, have you seen this thing?" and they'll be like, "no, but I heard about it" and you can be like, "LIAR!" unless they're from Hampshire College.
Anyway, now if you happen across this site and say, as many will, "wow - this sucks" but you don't feel like using google or getting friends, then I'm now directing you to stuff. So that's cool, I think.
Incidentally, this will make my 7th post, so... I should probably start figuring out how to make a little news archive, just in case, for future reference, you need to check up on how inferior to Michael Cera I feel. |
Kid's Book Project (2007-09-14 21:39:21)
OH snap! I meant to put this post up forever ago.
A while ago, I signed on to this thing known for now as "The Kid's Book Project" created by Mike Rouse-Deane. Since I doubt I can articulate it as well as he does, I'll just copy+paste from the site, which is here.
"The Kid's Book Project is a children's book containing artwork from over 50 webcomic artists who all contribute one page within the story of the book. Each artist has no help other than to see the page previous their own and has to continue it. There are two groups, one that is making its way from page 1 onwards and one making their way from page 58 backwards. All the profits for the book go automatically to our charity - the Make-A-Wish Foundation which helps children with terminal illnesses. Each book costs £6. The book should be completed by October 2007 with a December 2007 release date."
Mine involved Teddybear spiderbots. I think that anyone who reads webcomics should pre-order this - it's got some pretty big names in terms of webcomicking at least - Ali Graham (Housd) , Joe Dunn (Joe Loves Crappy Movies, The Coffee Achievers) , Steve Napierksi (Outer Circle, Dueling Analogs), Zach Clairville (CONvicts), Mitch Clem (The Coffee Achievers) Frank Gibson (Combustible Orange) , Lizz Greenfield (Stuff Sucks) and Ivan Pope (formerly boot_error and now Graff) to name a few. Even if it doesn't turn out well, it's a fun experiment that I think is worth checking out. How much is it in American? Like $12, right? And for charity, no less. Do you hate terminally-ill kids? Why?
Anyway - obviously not forcing ('cause I totally could... I can... I can be pretty e-tough), but pre-orders would be really appreciated right now. Besides, you've got over 50 talented artists and writers (I discount myself) putting all their effort into a single, one-image page - should be good, no?
So I hope some of you guys pre-order; it'd be really appreciated on a ton of levels.
And now, ONE MORE TIME: http://www.moovok.co.uk/kids/ :D |

I just found out that Michael Cera (Arrested Development, Superbad) is exactly 3 days younger than me.
...I need to do more with my life. |

| Even when Nate tries to draw himself to look friendly, it still comes off as kind of creepy. |
